GT Outclass RR by 77 Runs to Climb Into IPL 2026 Top Four

Gujarat Titans delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat Rajasthan Royals by 77 runs in IPL 2026 at Jaipur. Led by captain Rashid Khan, the Gujarat Titans moved into the top four of the points table after registering their fourth straight victory. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan laid the foundation with a massive opening partnership, helping GT post a formidable total of 229/4 in 20 overs.

Gill played a captain’s knock of 84 off 44 balls despite battling an injury, while Sudharsan contributed a fluent 55. Washington Sundar added late momentum with an unbeaten 37 off 20 balls. Rajasthan Royals struggled badly with the ball as their pacers leaked runs consistently, allowing GT to dominate the powerplay and death overs.

Chasing 230, the Rajasthan Royals started aggressively through young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, but wickets at regular intervals derailed the chase. Rashid Khan turned the match decisively in GT’s favour with a brilliant spell of 4/33, dismantling the RR middle order. Kagiso Rabada also chipped in with key breakthroughs as Rajasthan were bowled out for 151 in 16.3 overs.

The defeat pushed Rajasthan Royals out of the top-four race, while Gujarat Titans strengthened their playoff chances with seven wins from 11 matches.
