Princeton Park Shooting Injures at Least 13 on Chicago’s South Side

At least 13 people were injured in the Princeton Park shooting after two gunmen fired from a red SUV into a crowd on Chicago’s South Side, police said.

The shooting happened at about 11:00 PM CDT on Friday, June 19, 2026, on West 95th Street near South Wentworth Avenue. Two victims were listed in critical condition, and police had not announced any arrests.

What Police Said About the Princeton Park Shooting

Chicago police said the red SUV pulled alongside a large group before two people inside opened fire and fled. Officers responding to a report of a person shot found two wounded victims at the scene.

A 32-year-old woman who was shot twice in the back and a 44-year-old man who suffered four gunshot wounds to the back were hospitalized in good condition.

Police said at least 10 additional people, ranging in age from 17 to 47, suffered gunshot or graze wounds. A 17-year-old boy shot in the thigh and a 26-year-old man shot in the body were in critical condition.

The remaining victims were reported in fair condition, including a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head and a 47-year-old man who was shot in the knee.

Another 26-year-old man suffered unspecified injuries and declined medical treatment, bringing the reported number of injured people to at least 13.

No Arrests Announced in West 95th Street Shooting

Police did not release descriptions of the suspected gunmen. Area Two detectives are investigating what led to the attack and whether the crowd was specifically targeted.

The Princeton Park shooting remains under investigation as detectives work to identify the shooters and determine the motive behind an attack that injured victims ranging from teenagers to adults.
