Rajasthan Police have arrested 14 people in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Sri Ganganagar district. The case has sparked widespread public concern, with authorities assuring that a thorough investigation is underway and that those responsible will face legal action.
Minor rescued during police operation
According to police, the girl's mother reported her missing after she failed to return home. Acting on the complaint, officers conducted a raid on June 23 and rescued the minor from a hotel. The operation led to the detention of the hotel operator and staff, after which investigators uncovered allegations of repeated sexual assault.
Special Investigation Team formed
Following the victim's statement, police registered a case and transferred the investigation to a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Officials are examining CCTV footage, forensic evidence, technical data, and witness statements to establish the sequence of events.
So far, 14 people, including a hotel owner and hotel managers, have been arrested. Police said additional action will be taken if further evidence identifies more suspects.
Hotels demolished during administrative action
District authorities have demolished three hotels allegedly linked to the case, citing violations of building regulations. Officials said the action was taken under applicable municipal rules while the criminal investigation continues separately.
Investigation remains ongoing
Police have reiterated that no accused will be spared if found guilty. Authorities continue to collect evidence and have appealed to the public to rely only on verified official information as the investigation progresses.
