TTD has suspended VIP break darshan on select days from July 14 to September 23 for major temple rituals and festivals, including Brahmotsavams.
TTD suspends VIP break darshan on key festival days
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has announced the suspension of VIP break darshan on several important ritual and festival days between July 14 and September 23, 2026, at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirumala. The restrictions are being introduced to facilitate the smooth conduct of important religious ceremonies and the annual Brahmotsavams.
TTD has asked devotees and visitors planning to seek VIP break darshan during this period to check the schedule carefully and plan their pilgrimage accordingly. Recommendation letters for VIP break darshan will not be accepted on the previous day of the listed events, except in the case of protocol dignitaries. The decision covers selected dates in July, August and September rather than a continuous suspension for the entire period. The temple administration has linked each cancellation date to a major ritual, religious observance or festival programme at the Srivari temple.
VIP darshan cancelled on four dates in July
The first suspension will take effect on July 14 for Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, the traditional purification ceremony conducted at the Tirumala temple ahead of major religious occasions. VIP break darshan will again remain unavailable on July 17 for Anivara Asthanam. TTD has also suspended VIP break darshan on July 19 for the Pedda Maryada programme connected with the Swamiji of Sri Andavan Ashramam. Another suspension is scheduled for July 29 for the Chaturmasya Sankalpam of the Tirumala Jeeyar Swamijis.
The July 17 Anivara Asthanam programme will also affect some other temple services. TTD earlier announced that Kalyanotsavam, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Unjal Seva and Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva would also remain cancelled on that date because of the celebrations. These restrictions are intended to allow temple priests and officials to complete important religious rituals without disruptions while managing the movement of devotees inside the temple complex.
Pavitrotsavam and September festival dates affected
VIP break darshan will also remain suspended on August 22 and August 24 in connection with rituals related to Pavitrotsavams. The religious festival is an important part of the temple calendar, and TTD has included the relevant ritual dates in its VIP darshan restriction schedule. In September, VIP break darshan will be unavailable on September 8 and again continuously from September 14 through September 23 because of the annual Brahmotsavam-related programmes. The extended September restriction is expected to help temple authorities manage festival rituals and the movement of large numbers of pilgrims. The annual Brahmotsavams are among the most significant events in Tirumala’s religious calendar and traditionally draw a large number of devotees. TTD regularly modifies or suspends some privilege darshan arrangements during major festivals to give priority to religious programmes and crowd management.
TTD advises devotees to plan pilgrimage carefully
TTD has made it clear that recommendation letters for VIP break darshan will not be accepted on the day before each scheduled cancellation. Protocol dignitaries will be exempt from this restriction, according to the announcement.
Devotees planning to visit Tirumala between July and September are therefore advised to take the revised schedule into account while arranging travel and accommodation. Those relying on recommendation letters for VIP break darshan should avoid planning visits around the restricted dates.
The announced VIP break darshan suspension dates are July 14, July 17, July 19, July 29, August 22, August 24, September 8 and September 14 to September 23.
With several major temple rituals and the annual Brahmotsavam season falling within this period, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has urged pilgrims to remain aware of the restrictions and plan their visit accordingly. The schedule is aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of religious programmes while managing pilgrim services at one of India’s busiest temples.
