Teen Volunteers Needed For Pleasanton Library Book And Media Sale Setup In September

The Friends of the Pleasanton Library are calling on local high school students to take part in a rewarding community project this September. The nonprofit group, known for its fundraising efforts to support library programs and services, is preparing for its annual Book and Media Sale. This popular event draws thousands of residents who come to browse through a wide variety of books, music, and media at affordable prices, with all proceeds going toward enriching the library’s offerings.

To help make the sale possible, the Friends group needs student volunteers on Saturday, September 6, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will meet at the Pleasanton Public Library’s large meeting room, where they will assemble shelving units and arrange tables. The students will then unpack thousands of donated books and display them neatly for the upcoming sale. This hands-on event is a chance to give back to the community while also fulfilling Pleasanton Unified School District’s requirement of 20 documented service hours with nonprofit organizations for graduation. Students from Foothill, Amador, and Village high schools are all eligible to participate.

Interested teens must sign up in advance by contacting James Woodwell at jwoodwel@yahoo.com no later than Thursday, September 4. The Book and Media Sale itself runs from September 11 through 14 at the Pleasanton Public Library and serves as one of the Friends group’s biggest fundraising events of the year. Not only does this opportunity provide valuable service hours, but it also gives students the chance to work together, make connections, and contribute to a beloved local tradition. More information about the event and the Friends of the Pleasanton Library can be found on their official websitehttp://www.friendsofthepleasan

By joining the setup crew, Pleasanton’s high school students can support an event that benefits the whole community while gaining experience in teamwork, responsibility, and community engagement. For those looking to complete graduation requirements and take part in a meaningful project, this is the perfect opportunity.
