Dharmendra’s life off screen was as eventful and influential as his celebrated film career. Long before he stepped into the world of movies, he married Prakash Kaur in 1954. The couple shared a strong bond and welcomed four children: Sunny, Bobby, Vijayta and Ajeeta. These honours reflected his standing as one of the most admired and influential actors in the history of Indian cinema. In 2004, Dharmendra entered the world of politics and served as a BJP Member of Parliament from Bikaner, Rajasthan. Although he did not pursue an aggressive political career, his decision to serve the public showcased his desire to contribute beyond films. His time in Parliament added another dimension to his already multifaceted persona. Meanwhile, his cinematic legacy continues through his family. Sunny and Bobby Deol followed in his footsteps and built successful acting careers. Esha Deol carved her niche in Bollywood, while nephew Abhay Deol emerged as a respected face in alternative and modern cinema. Together, the Deols remain one of the enduring pillars of the entertainment industry, carrying forward Dharmendra’s legacy with pride.
