Arun Srinivas Appointed Meta India Head: Leadership Profile

Meta Platforms has announced Arun Srinivas as its new India Head, a move expected to strengthen the company’s position in one of its fastest-growing markets. The decision comes amid the surge in digital advertising in India and Meta’s expanding user base across its platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. With a strong background in FMCG, tech, and private equity, Srinivas brings a blend of strategic vision and operational expertise to the table.

Srinivas began his career in 1996 at Reebok, where he held roles in product, sales, and marketing. In 2001, he joined Hindustan Unilever, where he spent over 15 years in leadership roles across various product categories and regions. His most notable role there was as Category Vice President for Foods South Asia, handling business across India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. He also led key beauty and food brands like Lakmé, Vaseline, and Knorr.

After exiting Unilever in 2017, he shifted gears to private equity, working with WestBridge Capital to support growth strategies for consumer brands like Vini Cosmetics and Enrich Salons. In 2019, Srinivas joined Ola as its COO and Global CMO, where he managed India operations and spearheaded the brand’s London launch, which quickly became a top competitor in the ride-hailing space.

He joined Meta in 2020 and initially led the Global Business Group for India. Later, he took over as Head of the Ads Business, handling all aspects of advertiser relations and revenue growth across platforms. Now, as the country head, he is set to oversee Meta’s full business strategy and operations in India.

Srinivas holds a postgraduate degree in Marketing from IIM Calcutta and a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Madras. He also completed an executive program at Kellogg School of Management. Known for his interest in running and music, he brings a well-rounded personality to a role that demands creativity and resilience. With over 25 years of industry experience and a proven track record, Arun Srinivas is expected to play a pivotal role in navigating Meta India through its next phase of growth, innovation, and user engagement.
