Delhi Red Fort Blast Declared Terror Attack: Govt Pledges Swift Justice for Perpetrators

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday officially termed the November 10 car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort a “heinous terror attack,” confirming it as an act of terrorism. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and observed a two-minute silence for the victims. A resolution was passed to ensure that every perpetrator and collaborator involved in the explosion is brought to justice swiftly and decisively.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, reading the resolution, said that the attack was “perpetrated by anti-national forces” and reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. The Cabinet also commended the courage of security personnel, emergency responders, and citizens who assisted during the crisis, helping contain the damage and rescue the injured in time. Global leaders and governments from across the world have expressed solidarity and support for India following the attack.

The Cabinet directed all security and investigative agencies to conduct a high-level probe with “utmost urgency and professionalism.” The investigation will examine the network behind the Red Fort blast, including possible collaborators and external links. The government emphasized that no individual or group involved will escape justice, and those aiding or abetting the attackers will face strict action.

Calling the explosion a “dastardly and cowardly act,” the government reaffirmed its unwavering stance against terrorism in all its forms. It also appreciated the efforts of medical staff and first responders who acted promptly to treat the injured. The Cabinet resolution concluded by underscoring India’s commitment to protecting every citizen and ensuring national security remains uncompromised — a message that reflects India’s resolve to stand united and strong against terror.
