In a major political development, the Telangana Governor has officially approved the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s request to prosecute former IT minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the alleged Formula E scam. Over the last two years, KTR has been under growing scrutiny as the ACB intensified its investigation. The bureau had already questioned him four times, probing financial and procedural lapses linked to the project. After conducting a nine-month detailed inquiry, reviewing documents, contracts, and testimonies, the ACB wrote to the Governor on September 9 seeking permission to prosecute the MLA. Nearly ten weeks later, that approval has now been granted, setting the stage for significant legal action.
With the prosecution approval in hand, the ACB is now preparing to move ahead with formal charges. Reports indicate that a charge sheet against KTR and senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar is likely to be filed soon. This marks a crucial turning point in the high-profile case, which has drawn widespread political attention across Telangana. The approval signals that the investigation is entering an aggressive phase, and further legal developments are expected in the coming weeks as the ACB pushes forward with its next steps.
