Smriti Mandhana Confirms Wedding Called Off, Requests Privacy Amid Speculations

Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana has finally broken her silence regarding the ongoing rumours surrounding her personal life and wedding plans. The cricketer officially announced through her Instagram story that her marriage with boyfriend and music composer Palash Muchhal has been called off. The confirmation comes after weeks of speculation that intensified when she deleted posts related to her relationship and pre-wedding celebrations. Smriti clarified that both families mutually decided to cancel the wedding and urged fans and media to respect their privacy.

The wedding was originally scheduled for November 23rd in Sangli. However, events took a sudden turn when Smriti’s father Shrinivas fell critically ill just hours before the ceremony, leading to its postponement. The following day, Palash Muchhal was also hospitalised due to health issues. Since then, rumours began circulating online that the couple was facing personal differences. The silence from both sides only added fuel to the discussions, prompting constant speculation from fans and news portals.

Smriti expressed that she is a private person but felt the need to address the situation publicly. She stated that she wishes to close the matter and asked everyone not to drag it further. Smriti also emphasised that her focus remains firmly on cricket and representing India at the highest level. She thanked her supporters for standing by her and said it is time to move forward. The message reflects her strong dedication to the sport and determination to continue contributing to Indian cricket. While the personal chapter closes for now, fans hope Smriti finds peace and success both on and off the field.
