TDP Spokesperson Controversy: Chandrababu Naidu Warns Party Leaders After IndiGo Crisis Comment
A recent slip-up by a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesperson during a live debate has triggered widespread criticism across media and political circles nationwide. While discussing the ongoing IndiGo crisis, the spokesperson stated that Nara Lokesh was monitoring the situation and that a control room had been set up for the matter. The host of the debate immediately questioned the claim, asking how Lokesh was connected to an aviation issue handled by the central government.
Although the remark seemed to be an unintentional slip made in the heat of the moment, it resulted in strong backlash and affected the party’s image at the national level. The situation escalated further when the spokesperson later defended the statement and responded aggressively in another media interaction.
Taking the matter seriously, Chief Minister and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu expressed displeasure over the unnecessary comments. He noted that creating conflict with supportive media platforms was avoidable and counterproductive. Naidu also criticized party spokespersons for not informing him about the issue before it became a major controversy.
During a meeting with official spokespersons, Naidu emphasized that the situation should have been addressed immediately instead of allowing it to grow. He stressed the need for proper preparation, factual clarity, and caution during media interactions to prevent remarks that could damage the party’s reputation.
