Anantapur Rural police have launched an investigation after a woman allegedly impersonated a DSP officer and cheated a man of ₹40.50 lakh through repeated hand loans over three years.
A shocking cheating case has surfaced in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district, where a woman allegedly posed as a DSP officer and swindled ₹40.50 lakh from a man. The incident came to light after the victim, identified as Rama Naidu, lodged a complaint with the Anantapur Rural police when the accused woman failed to return the borrowed money.
According to sources, Ranganaikulu, a close aide of Saraswati from Alamur village in the Anantapur Rural area, had introduced Saraswati to Rama Naidu as a DSP attached to Disha police services. Over the years, Saraswati reportedly maintained regular contact with Rama Naidu and gained his trust. Around three years ago, she allegedly began borrowing money from him in the name of covering medical expenses for her family members.
Believing her claims, Rama Naidu reportedly handed over a total of ₹40.50 lakh after collecting promissory notes from Saraswati. However, despite repeated requests over the past three years, she allegedly failed to repay the amount. Suspecting foul play, Rama Naidu conducted inquiries and discovered that Saraswati was not associated with the police department. Realising that he had been cheated, he approached the Anantapur Rural police, who have now begun a detailed investigation into the case.
