BJP Responds to Rahul Gandhi’s Statement
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after he claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not remain in power in a year. Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, stated that the system Modi once controlled is now collapsing internally and suggested that the government may attempt to suppress public pressure and impose an emergency-like situation.
Reacting to these claims, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused Gandhi of spreading propaganda and attempting to malign India’s democratic institutions. Poonawalla highlighted that the only emergency in India’s history was imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and alleged that Rahul’s remarks reflect the Congress party’s dynastic mindset.
Allegations Against Rahul Gandhi
Poonawalla stated that Rahul Gandhi, coming from a family with a history of emergency, perceives threats of an emergency even today. He claimed that the real crisis lies within the Congress party, citing internal revolt, desertion of leaders, and systemic collapse as evidence of dynastic rule issues.
The BJP spokesperson further accused Gandhi of making repeated misleading statements on economic issues, Covid vaccines, national security, and undermining morale in India’s armed forces. According to Poonawalla, Rahul Gandhi’s model involves spreading misinformation abroad and profiting politically from public panic, which harms India’s international reputation.
Gandhi’s Warning of Economic and Systemic Pressure
Addressing tribal leaders at an Adivasi Congress event at Indira Bhawan, Gandhi warned of an impending “economic tsunami” and said that public pressure is causing systemic revolt. He continued to express concerns over government performance, implying that institutional checks and balances are under strain.
Political analysts note that the exchange reflects the ongoing combative nature of Indian national politics, with both parties attempting to control public narratives ahead of upcoming elections. While Rahul Gandhi’s comments were intended to highlight governmental weaknesses, the BJP has positioned the remarks as politically motivated propaganda aimed at undermining India’s institutions and international credibility.
