Post-Ceasefire Drone Activity Sparks Tensions Across 9 Rajasthan Districts Under Blackout
Despite a ceasefire recently announced between India and Pakistan, tensions flared late Saturday night along the Rajasthan border. Loud explosion-like sounds were reported near Jaisalmer around 11:37 p.m., causing panic among locals. Pakistani drone activity was also detected in Barmer and Sriganganagar. The Indian Army responded swiftly and neutralized the aerial threats, preventing any reported damage or casualties. In response to the developments, Barmer administration imposed an immediate blackout, and sirens warned residents to stay indoors. Jaisalmer extended its blackout timing from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., reinforcing emergency measures across the region.

By Sunday morning, officials reported that the situation was calm and under control in the border districts of Barmer, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer. However, as a precaution, blackout measures were reimposed across nine districts, including Pali, Balotra, and Jodhpur. In Jodhpur, a scheduled blackout was enforced from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m., with residents instructed to even turn off inverter lights. Police ensured strict enforcement of the blackout protocol, with no reported casualties or damages. Security forces remain on high alert as investigations into the nature of the blasts continue.
