Jagan Explosive Claim: Balakrishna Came Drunk to AP Assembly, Political War Erupts

In a heated escalation of Andhra Pradesh’s political discourse, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has made a sensational allegation against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna. Speaking to the media, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief claimed that Balakrishna attended the Andhra Pradesh Assembly session under the influence of alcohol.

Jagan’s statement came in response to Balakrishna’s fiery speech in the Assembly, where he criticized Jagan for allegedly disrespecting veteran actor and former Union Minister Chiranjeevi. Reacting sharply, Jagan questioned both Balakrishna’s conduct and the Assembly Speaker’s decision to permit him to speak, saying, He had consumed alcohol and was intoxicated while coming to the Assembly. It is the Speaker’s fault for allowing a drunk person to speak in the Assembly. The former Chief Minister further cast doubts on Balakrishna’s mental and emotional state, alleging that his incoherent statements were a result of intoxication.

Jagan’s remarks have triggered widespread reactions among political observers and the public alike. While his frustration with Balakrishna’s remarks may be understandable, critics say the personal nature of his comments marks a new low in Andhra Pradesh’s political culture.

This controversy follows closely on the heels of another shocking claim by Jagan, where he alleged that senior YSRCP leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy had physically assaulted Chandrababu Naidu during their college days.

Political analysts believe that such accusations and counterattacks are deepening the rift between YSRCP and TDP, reducing the quality of political debate in the state. Neutral observers warn that the culture of personal attacks and character assassination in Andhra Pradesh politics is reaching unprecedented levels, overshadowing real governance issues.
