Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has entered a new chapter in his political and personal life with the completion and inauguration of his newly built residence in Shivapuram village, located in the Shantipuram mandal of his home constituency, Kuppam. The Gruhapravesam (housewarming) ceremony was held on Sunday morning in a traditional and private manner, with close family members participating in sacred rituals.
Chandrababu Naidu and his wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari led the ceremonies, performing religious pujas to mark the auspicious entry into the new house. A symbolic ritual of boiling milk, considered a traditional gesture of prosperity, was carried out by their daughter-in-law, Nara Brahmani. While the event had no official government association and was closed to media coverage, it was attended by extended family members, including Nara Lokesh and his wife.

The location of the new residence holds particular political relevance. For years, Chandrababu faced criticism from his opponents in the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for not owning a house in his own constituency, despite being elected from Kuppam for over three decades. Responding to these criticisms, Nara Bhuvaneshwari took the initiative to select the land and personally oversee the construction of their home. The foundation stone was laid in 2023, and the building has been steadily developed since.
The residence is designed not only as a home but also as a strategic base, complete with a party office and ample parking space to accommodate political meetings and constituency-related activities. The move is seen as a way to strengthen the Chief Minister’s local presence and reinforce his connection with the people of Kuppam.

Though the Gruhapravesam was not a public spectacle, the family ensured that local residents were included. Arrangements for traditional meals were made for attendees from nearby villages, creating a warm, community-oriented atmosphere. The event marked a meaningful milestone for the Naidu family and symbolized a deeper commitment to the region that has long supported Chandrababu’s political journey.
With the Andhra Pradesh assembly functioning under Naidu’s leadership once again, this new residence may play a key role not only in personal life but also in shaping political strategy in the region. The housewarming has not just been a personal celebration but a subtle political message of grounded leadership, deeper local involvement, and long-term planning.
