Sridhar Vembu, founder and former CEO of Zoho Corporation, has responded to growing speculation regarding the origins of Zoho products, the location of data hosting, and the company’s pricing strategy. Addressing the concerns on social media, he stated that there has been “a lot of false information we want to correct,” highlighting that Zoho is proudly built in India and serves customers worldwide.

Vembu emphasized that every Zoho product is developed in India with its global headquarters in Chennai. Zoho pays taxes in India on its worldwide revenue, strengthening its identity as a global corporation rooted in Indian soil. The company operates offices in more than 80 countries and has a strong customer base in the United States, one of its largest markets.

On the critical issue of data security, Vembu clarified that all Indian customer data is hosted within India across data centres in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai, with another planned in Odisha. Globally, Zoho operates over 18 data centres, each responsible for storing data within the jurisdiction of its country or region. “We are committed to hosting each country’s data in their own jurisdiction,” he explained, assuring customers of data privacy and compliance.
