ISDE India Edition 2026 Conference with Nandamuri Balakrishna Highlights Esophageal Cancer Research

The ISDE India Edition 2026, a two-day international conference on esophageal cancer, was inaugurated on April 10, 2026, by Shri Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman & Managing Trustee of NBTRMCF, at The Westin Hyderabad, Madhapur. This is the first time the conference is being held in India, emphasizing the country’s growing role in esophageal cancer research and clinical expertise. The conference, in association with the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI), is bringing together over 150 oncologists from around the world, including experts from Canada, Singapore, Japan, Australia, and the USA.

Shri Nandamuri Balakrishna spoke on the significance of the event, highlighting the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital’s 25th anniversary. He praised the institution’s commitment to making world-class cancer care accessible to all. He also noted that the ISDE India Edition 2026 marks a milestone for India, showcasing the country’s leadership in global oncology. Esophageal cancer, a serious and underdiagnosed disease in India, has high incidence rates in states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and the North-East. Advances in treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy, were discussed, with a focus on the challenges faced in treating this aggressive cancer. The conference also serves as a platform for sharing innovative techniques and fostering global collaboration to improve patient outcomes.
