The NTR Trust is organizing a Thalassemia Run on May 10, 2026, to raise awareness about thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder that affects children. The event will feature 3K, 5K, and 10K runs at Jalavihar, Hyderabad, beginning at 5 AM. NTR Trust Managing Trustee Mrs. Nara Bhuvaneshwari, along with Thalassemia Run brand ambassador and Indian cricket star Mithali Raj, attended a press meet to encourage public participation and support. The run aims to highlight the importance of blood donation and thalassemia testing, especially among young people before marriage.

Mrs. Nara Bhuvaneshwari shared the Trust's ongoing efforts to support children affected by thalassemia, including free blood transfusions, medicines, and food. She emphasized that the disease places a heavy financial burden on families and announced the establishment of a Thalassemia Care Center at the NTR Memorial Trust. In the past, the Trust organized successful events like the 2023–24 5K walk and the Thalassemia Run in Visakhapatnam, which saw impressive participation and support from donors.

Mithali Raj, the brand ambassador, urged the media and social media influencers to spread awareness about thalassemia, stressing that education and counseling are crucial in preventing the disease. She shared her personal experience visiting the Trust and meeting affected children, highlighting the importance of unity in tackling the disease. The NTR Trust will also set up a blood bank and a Thalassemia Care Center in Vijayawada to further support these children. Everyone is encouraged to register and participate in this important cause.
