Tirumala Temple Launches Book Prasadam to Promote Dharma

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has launched a new initiative called "Book Prasadam" to promote Sanatana Dharma and raise spiritual awareness among devotees. This innovative move is part of the temple’s broader effort to counter religious conversions and spread the glory of Hindu traditions. Under the guidance of TTD Chairperson BR Naidu, this programme will provide visitors with sacred Hindu texts along with the traditional laddoo prasadam.

As part of this initiative, devotees waiting for darshan at the Vaikuntham Queue Complex in Tirumala, as well as those in Dalit hamlets, remote villages, and agency areas of Andhra Pradesh, will be gifted books that reflect the essence of Sanatana Dharma. These spiritual handbooks will initially be printed in Telugu and later translated into other Indian languages for nationwide distribution.

The first set of books includes revered scriptures and devotional works such as Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavam, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Venkateswara Suprabhatam, Bhaja Govindam, Lalita Sahasranamam, Shiva Stotram, the Bhagavad Gita, and inspirational biographies of spiritual figures. All printing costs are being fully sponsored by donors, ensuring that the temple’s regular funds are not used.

The TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad, which is spearheading this effort, envisions this programme as a powerful tool to preserve, promote, and propagate Hindu beliefs and practices. The handbooks aim to encourage deeper engagement with spirituality and offer guidance in daily life, aligning with the temple’s commitment to uphold and celebrate Sanatana Dharma.
