Neet Ug Re-Test Sparks Anger And Stress Among Students Across Kolkata

Students Furious After NEET-UG Re-Test Announcement

The sudden decision to conduct a re-test for NEET-UG 2026 after an alleged paper leak in Rajasthan has triggered massive outrage among students and parents across Kolkata. Thousands of candidates who appeared for the highly competitive medical entrance examination on May 3 were left shocked after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the examination would be cancelled and conducted again. Students said they had already gone through months of mental pressure, sleepless nights, and intense preparation for the exam, only to face uncertainty once again. Several candidates questioned how such a large-scale paper leak could happen despite strict security arrangements and heavy monitoring at examination centres. Many aspirants claimed that repeated examination controversies are damaging the credibility of the country’s most important medical entrance test. Students from different parts of Kolkata, including Salt Lake and Kharda, expressed frustration over the emotional stress caused by the re-test decision. Candidates also said the sudden announcement has affected their future planning, counselling expectations, and confidence levels ahead of medical admissions.

Parents Demand Accountability From NTA Over Exam Chaos

Parents of NEET aspirants strongly criticised the handling of the examination process and demanded accountability from the National Testing Agency. Many families stated that students spend nearly two years preparing for the medical entrance examination with coaching classes, mock tests, and personal sacrifices, making such last-minute disruptions extremely painful. Dibyendu Banerjee, father of a NEET candidate, said the authorities failed to protect the integrity of the examination system even after implementing strict checks at exam centres. Parents also raised concerns over the growing number of competitive exam controversies in recent years and questioned whether proper safeguards are being followed to prevent leaks and malpractice. Education experts warned that repeated examination failures could impact students mentally and reduce trust in national-level testing systems. Meanwhile, students across Kolkata continue to wait for official confirmation regarding the revised examination schedule and further instructions from the NTA. The issue has now sparked wider debate on exam transparency, security, and the pressure faced by lakhs of medical aspirants across India.
