Kavitha Reacts Sharply to Congress Switch Rumors

The political future of Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of BRS leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), has been the subject of growing speculation in Telangana’s political circles. Over the past few weeks, chatter around her potential divergence from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) gained momentum following her public letter to KCR and the launch of Singareni Jagruthi, hinting at an independent political path.

Fueling the debate, a leading Telugu-language publication reported on Wednesday that Kavitha was in talks with Congress leadership, allegedly through a mediator, and was considering a party switch. According to the report, Congress was hesitant to embrace Kavitha, citing concerns about getting entangled in KCR family politics. However, Kavitha quickly issued a strong rebuttal. Posting a clipping of the report on her social media, she called out the publication, questioning whether such unverified reporting constitutes journalism or something more harmful.

“Is it journalism for a newspaper to write this news without even consulting me? Or is it sadism?” Kavitha wrote, expressing frustration over what she claimed was a complete lack of journalistic ethics in publishing a politically sensitive report without seeking her version of events.

While Kavitha's denial may settle the rumor for now the larger question of her political trajectory remains open. In a political landscape where realignments are not uncommon, skepticism continues to surround her next move. Despite her rejection of Congress links, the speculation reflects the uncertainty surrounding the future of BRS leadership and family dynamics within the party. As of now, Kavitha remains publicly committed to her current political position, but in Indian politics, surprises are never far off.
