Dallas Street Racer in Fatal Crash Surrenders to Police

The second and final suspect involved in a deadly street racing crash on Mother’s Day in South Dallas has turned herself in to authorities. Sharonda Clark, 47, the driver of the black Cadillac seen fleeing the crash site, surrendered on Wednesday following a police manhunt and public appeals for her arrest.

The crash, which occurred on May 11, took the life of Jose Ambrocio Medina Soto, 59, after his pickup truck was struck during a high-speed race between two vehicles. The other driver, Kadishjah Jackson, 31, was previously arrested at the hospital following the crash and now faces multiple charges, including manslaughter.

Clark had been the subject of a recent segment on Trackdown series. Authorities had offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to her arrest. Surveillance footage captured Clark’s black Cadillac leaving the scene of the crash, and her identity was confirmed through video evidence and her vehicle’s license plate. Police say Clark did not stop to render aid after the crash, and even more shockingly, a child was left behind in her vehicle by fleeing occupants.

Clark now faces serious legal consequences. Charges filed include:

  • Collision involving serious bodily injury

  • Collision involving death

  • Collision involving bodily injury

  • Racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury

  • Racing on a highway causing death

  • Racing on a highway causing bodily injury

She is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail on a $375,000 bond.

The first suspect arrested, Kadishjah Jackson, was driving a blue Ford Fusion that authorities say was traveling at over 87 mph just seconds before impact nearly triple the posted 30 mph speed limit. According to the arrest affidavit, Jackson’s vehicle lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck Medina Soto’s pickup truck, causing a devastating collision that claimed his life. Jackson’s car flipped, trapping her and her two passengers inside. She has since been charged with:

  • Manslaughter

  • Aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury

  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

  • Multiple counts of racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury

Her total bond is set at $1 million.

This tragedy has renewed focus on the dangers of illegal street racing in Dallas, an issue that continues to claim innocent lives. Community members and law enforcement officials are calling for stricter enforcement and community awareness to curb the rise in such reckless behavior. With both drivers now in custody, the Medina Soto family may begin to seek justice for a preventable death that has shocked South Dallas and brought renewed attention to a growing public safety issue. Authorities continue to investigate whether others may have been involved in the planning or encouragement of the street race. Police urge residents to report illegal racing and reckless driving immediately and remind the public that such behavior not only breaks the law but can also lead to irreversible loss.
