Union City Community and Recreation Services now makes it easier than ever to register for local programs, classes, and activities with its 24/7 online system. Through the REC1 platform, residents can sign up for offerings ranging from sports and arts to fitness and special events, all from the comfort of home or while on the go. While most programs allow online registration, certain activities still require in-person sign-up, especially those needing additional information, flexible scheduling, or instructor approval.
To get started, users must create a REC1 account by selecting REC1 Online from the city’s recreation page, then navigating to “My Account” and choosing Create New Account. After filling in personal and family details, an Account PIN and Personal IDs for each family member will be emailed, typically within one business day. These credentials are essential for logging in, registering for activities, and managing account details. If login information is forgotten, users can reset their PIN instantly online, though repeated incorrect attempts will lock the account for 24 hours.
Once logged in, registering for a program is simple: browse the Activities tab, search for the desired program, click Add to place it in your basket, and proceed to secure checkout with full payment. If a program is full, the system offers a waitlist option, notifying participants if spots become available. Additional online functions include viewing registration history, searching by keyword, and checking program eligibility based on age or prerequisites.
Union City ensures security through encrypted connections, visible via a padlock icon on certain pages. While the system streamlines registration, some transactions like class transfers or refunds still require contacting recreation centers directly, and specific programs such as day camps and aquatics have separate policies. This digital approach brings convenience to residents eager to engage in community life without the need for in-person visits.
