Lorna Hajdini Countersues Chirayu Rana Over Viral JPMorgan Misconduct Claims

JPMorgan executive Lorna Hajdini has filed a defamation countersuit against former banker Chirayu Rana in New York state court, denying his sexual misconduct allegations and accusing him of spreading false claims that harmed her reputation.

The Lorna Hajdini countersuit follows Rana’s earlier lawsuit against Hajdini and JPMorgan Chase, in which he alleged sexual abuse, harassment and workplace coercion. Hajdini denies the allegations, and JPMorgan has said it does not believe Rana’s claims have merit.

Hajdini, 37, alleges in her filing that Rana’s claims were false, malicious and damaging to her professional and personal life. Reuters reported that she is seeking unspecified damages for defamation, emotional distress and related claims.

Court filings submitted on Thursday, May 21, 2026, included examples of abusive messages Hajdini allegedly received after the dispute drew widespread attention online. The messages included violent threats, sexually explicit comments and degrading language directed at Hajdini and her family.

Chirayu Rana Defends Original Lawsuit

Rana, a former JPMorgan banker, has defended his decision to sue. In an interview with The Juggernaut, a New York-based publication focused on South Asian news, he argued that skepticism toward his allegations reflected a gender double standard and said critics would respond differently if the roles were reversed.

The case has become a widely discussed Wall Street legal dispute because of the competing allegations, the involvement of JPMorgan Chase and the viral social media response. Hajdini says the attention has turned her life into a public ordeal, while Rana maintains that his claims are true and should be tested in court.

The allegations in both lawsuits remain unproven. The case is pending in New York state court, where the competing claims will be reviewed through the legal process.
