According to police officials, the crash occurred when a speeding truck rammed into a Swift car. The force of the impact pushed the smaller vehicle into a Bolero utility vehicle that was carrying a significant load of gravel. Moments after the collision, a fire broke out in the Bolero, rapidly engulfing the vehicle and trapping passengers inside.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the intensity of the fire made rescue efforts difficult. All 11 victims were inside the affected vehicle and were unable to escape in time.
