The Andhra Pradesh delegation’s presence at the World Economic Forum Summit in Davos has already begun yielding remarkable results. IT Minister Nara Lokesh made a major announcement that has drawn national and international attention by revealing a massive strategic infrastructure partnership between the Andhra Pradesh government and RMZ Group. Valued at nearly 10 billion dollars, this partnership is expected to redefine the state’s digital, industrial and employment landscape over the coming decade.
Under this historic agreement, RMZ Group will develop a 10 million square feet Global Capability Centre Park along with a 1 GW hyperscale data center cluster in Visakhapatnam. This project is designed to position the coastal city as a leading destination for Global Capability Centres, artificial intelligence innovation, cloud infrastructure and enterprise digital services. The initiative aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s long-term vision of becoming a preferred destination for global technology companies seeking scalable and policy-friendly ecosystems.
In addition to the Vizag development, the partnership also includes the establishment of a 1,000-acre industrial and logistics park in Rayalaseema. This move is aimed at ensuring balanced regional growth while strengthening manufacturing, warehousing and supply chain networks across southern India. The integrated approach is expected to boost regional employment, improve infrastructure, and attract ancillary industries into the ecosystem.
The combined projects are projected to generate nearly one lakh direct and indirect jobs across IT services, data centers, manufacturing units and logistics operations. According to Lokesh, this investment reflects Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to policy clarity, transparent governance and rapid execution. He emphasized that the state’s focus on ease of doing business and speed of doing business has made Andhra Pradesh one of the most attractive destinations for global investors.
The Rs 90,000 crore partnership with RMZ Group is being seen as a turning point for Andhra Pradesh’s economic transformation. Industry experts believe the Vizag GCC and AI hub will attract global corporations, startups and research institutions, creating a powerful innovation ecosystem. At the same time, the Rayalaseema industrial park is expected to accelerate rural and semi-urban development, ensuring inclusive growth.
With this announcement at Davos, Andhra Pradesh has sent a strong message to the global investment community about its readiness to lead in technology, infrastructure and sustainable development. Lokesh’s proactive leadership and international engagement have positioned the state as a future-ready destination, setting the stage for long-term economic growth, employment generation and global recognition.
