As India gears up to celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, at Delhi’s historic Red Fort, the Delhi Police has released a detailed set of security guidelines to ensure the safety of attendees and the smooth conduct of the event. Entry to the venue will be strictly controlled, with access granted only to those carrying official invitation cards. The sole exception is Enclosure No. 21-C, where visitors can enter with a valid government-issued photo ID.

The police have also issued a comprehensive list of prohibited items, covering food and beverages, bags, electronic gadgets, photography equipment, containers, explosives, digital devices, tobacco products, hazardous materials, tools, weapons, charging devices, sharp objects, firearms, and dangerous chemicals. This includes everyday items such as water bottles, umbrellas, mobile chargers, power banks, scissors, matchboxes, and perfumes. The aim is to prevent any potential threats and maintain a secure environment for dignitaries, guests, and the general public.

Visitors are advised not to carry eatables, ketchup packets, bags, cameras, radios, laptops, flasks, or any kind of sharp or hazardous object. Firearms, toy guns, firecrackers, and any form of explosives are strictly prohibited. Tobacco, alcohol, and aerosol-based products are also banned. All attendees must pass through rigorous security checks and frisking at entry points, and any suspicious object should be immediately reported to security personnel.

The Delhi Police has urged all attendees to cooperate fully with security staff, arrive early to avoid last-minute congestion, and remain vigilant throughout the event. Following these guidelines not only ensures personal safety but also contributes to a peaceful and dignified celebration of India’s independence. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to address the nation from the Red Fort, these measures reflect the heightened security preparedness for one of the most significant national events of the year.
