Portillo's Launches Breakfast Menu at Select Chicago Locations with New Morning Offerings
Portillo's, the renowned Chicago-based chain known for its hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches, has embarked on a new culinary venture by introducing a breakfast menu at select locations. This marks a significant expansion in the brand's offerings, aiming to cater to early risers and breakfast enthusiasts in the Chicago area.

Starting April 15, 2025, five Portillo's locations began serving breakfast daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The participating locations include:
  • Niles: 8832 W. Dempster St.
  • South Loop: 520 W. Taylor St.
  • Shorewood: 1155 Brook Forest Ave.
  • Elmhurst: 155 S. Route 83
  • Tinley Park: 15900 Harlem Ave.

The breakfast menu features a variety of new items designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes. Among the highlights are three breakfast sandwiches: a Polish Sausage, Egg & Cheese sandwich with giardiniera sauce on French bread; a Bacon, Egg & Cheese croissant; and a vegetarian-friendly Pepper, Egg & Cheese sandwich. These offerings aim to provide hearty and flavorful options for morning diners.

In addition to the sandwiches, Portillo's has collaborated with local favorites to enhance its breakfast lineup. A notable addition is the Chocolate Cake Donut, created in partnership with Stan's Donuts. This treat is inspired by Portillo's famous chocolate cake and features a chocolate old-fashioned donut dipped in glaze and drizzled with chocolate cake frosting.

For coffee lovers, Portillo's has teamed up with Metropolis Coffee to offer a selection of beverages. Options include classic hot or iced coffee, as well as specialty drinks like the Chocolate Cake Iced Coffee and Vanilla Iced Coffee, both crafted to complement the new breakfast items.

To provide value to its customers, Portillo's offers a breakfast combo deal priced at $7.99. This meal includes a breakfast sandwich, a small coffee, and Hash Brown Bites, making it an attractive option for those seeking a satisfying morning meal. The introduction of breakfast items is a response to customer demand for morning offerings. According to Sara Wirth, Portillo’s director of public relations and communications, customers have long requested breakfast options, and the company has been testing these new items over the past year.

Customer feedback will play a crucial role in determining the future of the breakfast menu. The company plans to monitor responses and make adjustments as needed, with the potential for a broader rollout if the test proves successful. Portillo's expansion into breakfast represents a significant development in its 62-year history. By offering new menu items and collaborating with local partners, the chain aims to attract a new segment of customers and provide additional options for its loyal fan base.

As the breakfast test continues, Portillo's encourages customers to visit the participating locations and share their experiences. The company remains committed to delivering quality food and exceptional service, now extending its offerings to the early hours of the day. For more information on the breakfast menu and participating locations, customers can visit Portillo's official website or follow the company on social media for updates and announcements.
