Kavitha Launches Sarvodaya Telangana Party on April 25, Targets Youth and Women

Former MP and Telangana Jagruthi founder Kalvakuntla Kavitha has announced the launch of her new political party, Sarvodaya Telangana, marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape. The party will officially be unveiled on April 25, 2026, at Advaya Conventions in Medchal near Hyderabad. The event is expected to introduce the party’s flag, ideology, and leadership direction, with a clear focus on Telangana-specific issues.

Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, stated that the new party represents a fresh beginning aimed at addressing unmet promises since Telangana’s formation. She emphasized that the concept of “Sarvodaya,” inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, reflects universal upliftment and inclusive development. According to her, the party will prioritize the needs of farmers, youth, women, and marginalized communities who, she claims, continue to face neglect despite years of political change.

Kavitha highlighted that nearly all of the party’s focus will remain on Telangana, with only minimal attention given to national issues through a separate committee. She criticized existing political parties for losing touch with core regional concerns, particularly issues like water, funds, and employment—key demands during the Telangana movement. She argued that these promises remain unfulfilled even after more than a decade of statehood.

She also pointed out that various communities, including SCs, STs, BCs, and minorities, are still being treated as vote banks rather than stakeholders in governance. By positioning herself as a “daughter of Telangana,” Kavitha called for a strong regional movement that genuinely represents the people of the state.

A major highlight of Sarvodaya Telangana is its emphasis on women-led leadership and youth participation. Kavitha stressed that Indian politics has long been dominated by male leadership and that it is time for women to take charge. She urged women across Telangana to support the new political platform and play an active role in shaping policy and governance. At the same time, she encouraged youth to step into politics, stating that their involvement is crucial for meaningful change. According to her, young people should not remain passive observers but become active contributors to the political system.

Kavitha also made it clear that her party will operate independently and not act as a support system for any existing political formation. She asserted that Sarvodaya Telangana aims to emerge as a leading regional force and fill the gap left by shifting political priorities in the state. With its official launch scheduled in Medchal, Sarvodaya Telangana is expected to add a new dynamic to Telangana politics, especially with its strong positioning around regional identity, inclusive growth, and grassroots leadership.
