Kalvakuntla Kavitha Launches Telangana Praja Jagruthi, Paying Tribute to Telangana Icons

Kalvakuntla Kavitha is set to launch her new political party, Telangana Praja Jagruthi, marking the beginning of her independent political journey after parting ways with Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

HYDERABAD, India — April 25, 2026
All preparations are in place for the launch of a new political party by Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao. The event will take place on April 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Prof Jayashankar Grounds in Muneerabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Kavitha’s new political party has been named “Telangana Praja Jagruthi”, a name that was registered two months ago.

Kavitha, who resigned from the BRS and her Legislative Council seat earlier this year due to differences with the party leadership, is now set to begin her own political journey. The launch venue, Adhya Convention Centre, covering nearly 20 acres, has been transformed into a grand meeting space.

In a gesture to honor Telangana's historical figures, the venue’s main entrance is named after Kaloji Narayana Rao, while other gates bear the names of Telangana icons such as Rani Rudrama Devi, Maroju Veeranna, and Chakali Ilamma. The dining halls are named after prominent personalities including Suravaram Pratap Reddy, Sammakka Saralamma, and Shoaibullah Khan. Kavitha will also pay tributes to Telangana martyrs at Gun Park before proceeding to the venue in a large rally.
