YSRCP Links Mega DSC Row to NEET Protests in Andhra Pradesh
The YSR Congress Party is seeking to bring Andhra Pradesh’s Mega DSC teacher recruitment controversy into the wider campaign over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. The opposition party has announced statewide youth rallies for July 28, combining several education and employment-related demands under one protest programme.
YSRCP leaders have called on students, unemployed candidates and their families to join the demonstrations. Their stated demands include a CBI investigation into alleged Mega DSC irregularities, payment of pending fee-reimbursement dues, accountability over the NEET controversy and implementation of promises made to young people.
YSRCP Mega DSC Protest Expands July 28 Campaign
The party’s decision represents an effort to connect a state-level teacher recruitment dispute with the national anger surrounding examination security. YSRCP MPs have also sought a discussion in Parliament on alleged irregularities in Andhra Pradesh’s Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process.
The NEET protests have grown into a nationwide movement involving students, parents, activists and opposition parties. Demonstrators have demanded accountability, stronger safeguards against examination leaks and broader reforms to recruitment and entrance-test systems.
However, the two controversies involve different examinations and authorities. NEET-UG is a national medical entrance examination, while Mega DSC was an Andhra Pradesh government recruitment exercise conducted to fill teacher vacancies. Combining them may increase the political visibility of the DSC allegations, but it could also invite criticism that a national student agitation is being used to advance a state-level opposition campaign.
Mega DSC Allegations Face Government Denial
YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded a CBI probe, alleging manipulation, paper leaks, reduced transparency and irregular appointments in the Mega DSC selection process. He has questioned changes involving merit information, selection lists and the handling of certain recruitment categories.
The Andhra Pradesh government has rejected those allegations. School Education officials said the recruitment was conducted transparently under notified rules and through the TCS iON computer-based testing platform. The government also maintained that no established irregularity or violation had been found in the sports-quota selection process. Mega DSC-2025 was conducted for 16,347 teacher vacancies, with results released in August 2025 after objections were reviewed and the final answer key was revised.
NEET Link Could Help or Hurt YSRCP
The July 28 rallies may allow YSRCP to consolidate students, job aspirants and families affected by multiple education-related concerns. Linking Mega DSC with NEET also gives the Andhra recruitment dispute a larger political platform at a time when examination accountability is receiving national attention.
The strategy carries risks. The party must demonstrate evidence supporting its allegations rather than relying only on the scale of the NEET protests. The state government has already described the DSC charges as politically motivated and has publicly defended the recruitment procedure.
Whether the campaign gains public support will depend on participation in the July 28 rallies, the strength of the evidence presented by YSRCP and whether affected DSC candidates independently identify with the party’s demands.
Mega DSC Debate Set to Intensify
The DSC dispute is now moving beyond press conferences and entering rallies and parliamentary politics. YSRCP is attempting to position the issue as part of a broader struggle for examination transparency and youth justice, while the ruling alliance argues that the recruitment was completed fairly.
A CBI investigation has not been announced, and the allegations remain disputed. The July 28 demonstrations will provide an early indication of whether YSRCP can turn the Mega DSC controversy into a wider public movement or whether voters view the NEET connection mainly as a political strategy.
