Ongole Political Rift: Damacharla, Balineni Trade Fresh Charges

Political tensions within the ruling alliance have surfaced in Ongole, with TDP MLA Damacharla Janardhan and Jana Sena leader and former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy exchanging allegations.

Damacharla, who defeated Balineni in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, responded strongly to recent accusations made against him and questioned Balineni’s political approach after joining the Jana Sena Party.

Damacharla Accuses Balineni Of Creating Alliance Differences

Damacharla alleged that Balineni was acting in favour of the YSR Congress Party despite being a Jana Sena leader and accused him of attempting to create differences within the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance.

He also alleged that pamphlets targeting him had been circulated and said he had so far avoided responding strongly because Balineni is now part of the ruling alliance.

Damacharla warned that political differences should not disturb the functioning of the alliance in the constituency.

TDP MLA Challenges Allegations

Responding to allegations of illegal money collection, Damacharla challenged Balineni to provide evidence supporting the claims.

He also levelled counter-allegations against the former minister, further intensifying the political confrontation between the two leaders.

Rivalry Dates Back To 2024 Elections

Damacharla contested the 2024 Assembly election from Ongole on a TDP ticket and defeated Balineni, who was then representing the YSRCP, by more than 34,000 votes.

Balineni later left the YSRCP and joined the Jana Sena Party in the presence of party chief Pawan Kalyan.

The renewed confrontation between the sitting TDP MLA and the Jana Sena leader has now brought internal differences within the ruling alliance in Ongole into focus.
