A new chapter in affordable housing begins this week as Dublin officials break ground on the Regional Street Apartments, a 113-unit housing community designed specifically for seniors. Developed by Eden Housing, the project will provide much-needed affordable housing to older adults in the Tri-Valley area.
Located at 7750 St. Patrick Way, the 1.3-acre development site is close to the West Dublin/Pleasanton BART station and accessible via I-580 and I-680. The complex will include 55 studios and 57 one-bedroom units. Residents must be older adults earning between 20% and 50% of Alameda County’s Area Median Income (AMI). Notably, 34 of the units will be reserved for formerly unhoused seniors, integrating supportive housing into the project’s mission.
The official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 30, from 12–2 p.m. Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu will be joined by California State Senator Jerry McNerney and representatives from the offices of Congressman Eric Swalwell, Assemblymember Liz Ortega, and Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert.
The Regional Street Apartments are part of a broader regional push to provide sustainable, supportive housing solutions for vulnerable populations, particularly low-income seniors and those who have experienced homelessness. Eden Housing, a nonprofit developer with a long history of affordable housing projects across California, is leading the design and construction.
With easy access to public transit and community services, the site is ideal for seniors who benefit from proximity to healthcare, shopping, and recreational opportunities. City leaders and housing advocates have praised the development as a critical response to the area’s growing need for affordable, age-friendly housing especially in high-demand regions like the Bay Area.
