Cricketer Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, has gotten engaged to Saaniya Chandok in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends. Sources confirmed the news on Wednesday, sparking a wave of reactions on social media. While no official statement has been issued by either family, the event marks a significant personal milestone for the 25-year-old all-rounder.
According to reports, Saaniya Chandok is the granddaughter of Mumbai-based entrepreneur Ravi Ghai, a prominent figure in India’s hospitality and food industries. The Ghai family owns the InterContinental hotel in Mumbai and the popular dessert brand Brooklyn Creamery. The engagement was reportedly an intimate affair, with only select invitees from both families present.
Arjun Tendulkar is a left-arm pacer who also contributes with the bat. Representing Goa in domestic cricket, he has played 17 First-Class matches, taking 37 wickets and scoring 532 runs. In T20 cricket, he has 27 wickets and 119 runs from 24 matches, while his List A record includes 25 wickets and 102 runs from 18 games.
Arjun made his Indian Premier League debut for the Mumbai Indians in 2023, where he took his first IPL wicket by dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar of SunRisers Hyderabad. Retained for the 2024 season, he was later bought again by MI in the mega auction for ₹30 lakh. Despite limited appearances, he remains a promising talent in India’s cricketing circuit. The engagement has combined the worlds of cricket and business, making it one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the week. Fans now eagerly await further announcements from the couple and their families.
