PM Narendra Modi recently appreciated Telugu superstar Ram Charan, his wife Upasana Kamineni, and her father Anil Kamineni for their collaborative efforts in promoting archery through the Archery Premier League (APL).
The meeting, which took place in New Delhi, was a significant moment recognizing the team’s dedication to reviving and supporting the traditional sport of archery in India. The Archery Premier League, an initiative spearheaded by industrialist and sports patron Anil Kamineni, aims to build awareness, attract youth participation, and give Indian archers a platform of international standards.
Ram Charan, known for his pan-India appeal and global popularity following RRR, expressed his excitement and gratitude for being part of this sports initiative. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote that he felt "honoured to meet PM Modi Ji", and called the Archery Premier League a “meaningful step to preserve the legacy of the sport and make it popular among people worldwide.”
Prime Minister Modi shared his appreciation via a heartfelt message on X, stating he was pleased to meet Ram Charan, Upasana, and Anil Kamineni, and lauded their sincere efforts to promote archery. He added that their work would inspire countless youngsters to explore and embrace archery, helping carry forward its rich cultural and sporting heritage.
