Ohio-based Soul 2 Go expands to Gahanna ahead of grand opening weekend
A growing Ohio-based restaurant brand specializing in Southern-inspired cuisine has expanded its footprint with a new location in Gahanna, Ohio. Soul 2 Go began serving customers at its latest outlet, located at 134 N. Hamilton Road, on Friday, April 4, 2025, marking another step in the company’s regional growth strategy.

The restaurant is currently operating in a soft opening phase, allowing staff to refine operations ahead of its official launch. The business has announced plans for a grand opening weekend scheduled from Thursday, May 1 through Saturday, May 3, 2025. Customers are encouraged to check the restaurant’s social media channels for updated operating hours during this initial period.

This Gahanna location represents Soul 2 Go’s third establishment in central Ohio. The brand first launched in 2021 with a carryout kitchen at 1282 Essex Avenue in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood of Columbus. It later expanded with a standalone restaurant at 72 E. Lynn Street in Columbus’ Uptown District in 2024, reflecting steady demand for its menu offerings.

The business is operated by brothers Will, Kevin, and Keith Hightower, along with their longtime associate Jerome Ross. Together, the team has focused on blending traditional soul food with influences from other culinary traditions to create a distinctive menu.

Soul 2 Go’s offerings include classic Southern dishes such as fried cornbread, catfish nuggets, jerk chicken, and pork chops. Side dishes feature staples like candied yams, collard greens, fried okra, and baked beans. The menu also incorporates elements from other cuisines, including Italian-inspired pasta dishes and Cajun-style options such as shrimp and grits, reflecting a broader fusion approach.

Leadership behind the brand has previously indicated ambitions to continue expanding both within Ohio and into new markets. The opening of the Gahanna location underscores that growth trajectory, as the company builds its presence in the competitive Midwest dining landscape.
