AMC Offers 50% Off Movie Tickets Every Wednesday

As summer heats up and Americans continue searching for affordable entertainment, AMC Theaters is stepping up with a massive midweek offer. Beginning July 9, the theater chain is rolling out “50% Off Wednesdays,” slashing movie ticket prices in half every Wednesday for members of its AMC Stubs rewards program.

Already known for its popular “Discount Tuesdays,” AMC is now doubling down on value-driven moviegoing to increase weekday attendance. This bold new pricing initiative arrives as inflation continues to weigh on wallets, and families look for ways to enjoy summer outings without overspending.

Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Theaters, highlighted the success of their existing discount model in a recent statement. “The introduction of Discount Tuesdays several years ago has turned Tuesday into one of the best-attended days of the week,” he noted. “Now, with the introduction of 50% Off Wednesdays, we’re aiming to make midweek moviegoing just as attractive.”

The new discount applies to all current and new AMC Stubs members and will be available across participating AMC locations nationwide. Moviegoers simply need to sign up for the free AMC Stubs Insider tier (or opt for the paid Premiere and A-List memberships) to enjoy the offer. This strategic pricing decision follows months of box office growth. Aron pointed out that earlier this year, such a promotion wouldn’t have been financially feasible. But thanks to a strong spring season and a promising slate of films lined up for summer and fall, AMC is confident in the industry's continued rebound.

“Realistically, we could not afford to have made this change to our ticket pricing strategy until the box office showed true signs of sustained recovery,” Aron said. “But in April and now in May, the box office has been booming, and the remainder of 2025 appears poised to continue that upward box office trend.” For budget-conscious viewers and families, “50% Off Wednesdays” couldn’t come at a better time. While inflation has cooled somewhat, essential costs from groceries to gas remain high in many areas. Entertainment, especially movie outings, often takes a backseat during tight economic times.

AMC’s offer helps bridge that gap, giving fans an affordable reason to return to the big screen experience. Whether it’s a long-awaited blockbuster, a family-friendly animated film, or a quiet indie feature, half-off pricing provides more flexibility for people who might otherwise wait for a streaming release. In recent months, the U.S. box office has shown notable signs of recovery, with April and May posting strong numbers thanks to several high-performing films. AMC is betting that consistent foot traffic, even midweek, will keep that momentum alive.

Moviegoers interested in taking advantage of the deal should ensure they are signed up for AMC Stubs before the program kicks off on July 9. The offer applies every Wednesday and is expected to run through the peak of the summer season, making it one of the most accessible ways to enjoy the latest films at a fraction of the regular cost. With streaming platforms continuing to raise subscription prices and reduce content availability, AMC’s value-focused strategy may resonate with more audiences than ever before. Whether it’s nostalgia, affordability, or simply the love of the cinematic experience, 50% Off Wednesdays is set to become a midweek movie ritual for many.
