India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a Sydney hospital after sustaining internal bleeding from a rib cage injury during the third ODI against Australia. The injury occurred while he took a spectacular backward catch to dismiss Alex Carey, after which he appeared to hurt his left rib and was immediately assisted off the field. The BCCI medical team acted promptly after his vital signs fluctuated, ensuring he received urgent medical attention.
