Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has officially begun preparations to launch her own political party in the state, setting the stage for a fresh political chapter ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections. The move has sparked significant interest in Telangana’s political circles, as it signals a potential shift in leadership dynamics within the region.
According to sources, Kavitha has already initiated the foundation-level planning for her party by forming 32 specialized committees. These committees have been tasked with studying various aspects of governance, party structures, and public issues. Their objective is to build a strong, democratic framework that can offer a meaningful alternative to existing political parties in the state.
Kavitha stated that several committees have been created to analyze the failures of both the BRS and Congress governments that ruled Telangana after its formation. Other committees are focused on studying the constitutions of different political parties across the country and drafting a new constitution that reflects transparency, inclusiveness, and democratic values. The committees will examine 32 key issues affecting the state, including water management, financial allocation, and public appointments. Members have been instructed to conduct field-level studies and gather direct feedback from the public. These reports are to be submitted to the Steering Committee by the 17th of this month.
The Steering Committee, headed by Working President Roop Singh, will review the findings and submit a consolidated report. Based on this, Jagruthi is expected to hold a state-level executive committee meeting to decide the next course of action. This step is seen as crucial in shaping the party’s ideology, leadership structure, and political roadmap.
While Kavitha’s organizational efforts reflect strong intellectual preparation, political observers note that emotional connection with voters and practical political expertise play a major role in Telangana’s electoral success. The coming three years will be critical in determining whether Kavitha can translate her planning into public trust and electoral influence.
