RCB beat LSG in IPL 2026 as Kohli and Rasikh Dar shine at Chinnaswamy
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a commanding performance to defeat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their IPL 2026 encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The win was built on a disciplined bowling display and a controlled chase, extending RCB’s strong run in the tournament.

RCB’s bowling attack set the tone early, dismantling LSG’s batting lineup and restricting them to 146 all out. The standout performer was Rasikh Dar, who produced a decisive spell of 4-0-24-4, using variations and accuracy to break the backbone of the opposition innings. His efforts ensured LSG never gained sustained momentum despite brief resistance from their middle order.

LSG’s innings suffered further disruption when captain Rishabh Pant faced an early setback. After failing to get going in the opening deliveries, Pant’s elbow injury halted his rhythm and forced him off the field, significantly impacting the team’s stability in the powerplay. He later returned in the 16th over but managed only a single run before being dismissed following a sharp catch by Phil Salt.

Mitchell Marsh offered the most resistance for LSG, reaching 40 off 31 deliveries with a combination of boundaries and sixes. However, his dismissal to Krunal Pandya stalled any hopes of a late surge. Nicholas Pooran also endured a difficult outing, continuing his poor form as he fell cheaply to Josh Hazlewood, further weakening LSG’s middle order.

A late cameo from Mukul Choudhary briefly lifted LSG’s hopes of reaching a more competitive total. He struck a six in the final over and looked set to push the score closer to 160, but Rasikh Dar struck again immediately to end his innings on 39, sealing LSG’s collapse.

In reply, RCB chased down the target with ease, finishing well ahead with 29 balls remaining. Virat Kohli, playing as an impact substitute, anchored the innings with a composed 49, guiding the chase after early stability was established at the top. His innings ensured RCB maintained control throughout and comfortably crossed the finish line.

The victory underlined RCB’s balanced form this season, with both their bowling unit and top-order batting clicking effectively at a crucial stage of IPL 2026.
