Washington Sundar gave Gujarat’s innings late stability with an unbeaten 50 from 37 balls. His knock helped the Titans reach 155/8, but the total still left RCB with a manageable chase under lights in Ahmedabad.

Player awards and why the result matters

Kohli was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten innings. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was named Player of the Series and also finished as the Orange Cap winner, while Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap.

The win gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru back-to-back IPL titles and strengthened their place among the league’s most successful recent teams. For Gujarat Titans, the final ended in disappointment despite another strong campaign under Shubman Gill.
