Bomb Threats At Multiple Locations In Hyderabad: Search Ongoing

Bomb threats at four prominent locations in Hyderabad, including the City Civil Court, Raj Bhavan, Gymkhana Club, and Secunderabad Civil Court, caused a major security scare on July 8, 2025. The alert was triggered after an email was sent to the City Civil Court claiming that bombs planted at these places would detonate. The email specifically mentioned that improvised explosive devices (IEDs) containing RDX were hidden at the various sites. Following the threat, police immediately sprang into action to conduct thorough searches with the assistance of bomb disposal experts and sniffer dog squads.

The search operations were focused on Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the governor, and the two Civil Courts, along with the Gymkhana Club. While the police have not found any suspicious objects so far, the threat caused significant disruption. At the City Civil Court, the situation escalated when judges, lawyers, and clients were instructed to evacuate the premises, halting all court activities.

The incident prompted a massive police response, with senior officers overseeing the search. The court, located in the Purani Haveli area near the old Police Commissioner’s office, houses the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police for South Zone. The threat, attributed to a group of individuals claiming to be former students of Anna University, was reportedly emailed in the early hours of the day. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the email and bring those responsible to justice. This incident highlights the continued vigilance needed to ensure public safety in the face of emerging threats.
