ICE detains Himanshu Bhau, Neeraj Kaushik in Las Vegas

US immigration authorities detained Himanshu Bhau and Neeraj Kaushik near Las Vegas on October 22, 2026. The Himanshu Bhau ICE arrest follows intelligence shared by India's Haryana STF, which is coordinating with US agencies to seek the suspects' return for criminal proceedings.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained two Indian nationals wanted in connection with criminal investigations in India. Himanshu Bhau and Neeraj Kaushik, also known as Neeraj Faridpuria, were reportedly apprehended in the Las Vegas area on Thursday, October 22, 2026, following intelligence shared by Indian authorities.

ICE detention in Nevada

Both men have been reported in ICE custody at the Henderson Detention Center in Henderson, Nevada, near Las Vegas. Their cases are being handled by ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) office in Las Vegas.

Reports indicate that Bhau was listed in US detention records under the name Himanshu Sigroha, while Kaushik appeared under his own name. The specific immigration violations alleged against the men and the timetable for further proceedings have not been publicly established.

Himanshu Bhau criminal cases in India

Bhau, also identified as Himanshu Ritoliya, is from Haryana's Rohtak district in northern India. Indian authorities have linked him to investigations involving murder, attempted murder, extortion, criminal intimidation and forgery.

Reports citing Indian police records say Bhau faces allegations in at least 18 criminal cases. Interpol issued a Red Notice concerning him in August 2023.

Kaushik, known as Neeraj Faridpuria, is also wanted in India in connection with multiple criminal cases. The allegations against both men remain subject to the applicable legal proceedings.

Haryana STF coordinates with US authorities

India's Haryana Special Task Force (STF) said information shared with American authorities contributed to the detentions. The agency is coordinating with US law enforcement and Indian central agencies to secure the men's return.

An Interpol Red Notice requests that authorities locate and provisionally arrest a wanted person pending further legal action. It is not an international arrest warrant.

Deportation and extradition remain unresolved

Indian officials are seeking the return of both men, but no confirmed transfer date has been announced.

Deportation through US immigration procedures and extradition through a separate legal process have different requirements. Reports have not established which process will ultimately apply.

US authorities have not publicly detailed new criminal charges arising from the detentions. Further proceedings will determine whether the two men can be transferred to India to face the cases pursued by Indian investigators.
