Mohan Babu University (MBU) hosted its grand Second Graduation Day Ceremony today, a celebration filled with academic excellence, pride, and inspiration. The event was graced by Shri Praful Patel, former Union Minister of Civil Aviation and current Member of Rajya Sabha, who served as the Chief Guest.

Dr. M. Mohan Babu, Chancellor of MBU and Chairman of the Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust (SVET), along with Mr. Vishnu Manchu, Pro-Chancellor of MBU, conferred degrees upon the graduating students, marking a significant milestone for the institution. Also present were key leaders from SVET, including Mr. Vinay Maheshwari, Executive Director, and Ms. Viranika Manchu.

The highlight of the day came with the conferring of honorary doctorates to two eminent Indian personalities for their outstanding contributions to the nation:

Vijay Darda, Chairman of Lokmat Media Group, received the honorary doctorate for his contributions to press freedom, education, and democratic values. A veteran journalist and three-time Rajya Sabha Member, Darda has led Lokmat to become one of Maharashtra’s most influential media houses.

Padma Shri Shivamani, a globally acclaimed percussionist, was also honored for his contributions to Indian music. Renowned for his exceptional talent and collaborations with legends like A.R. Rahman, Shivamani has electrified audiences across the globe with his musical brilliance.

Both honorary doctorates were ceremonially conferred by Dr. Mohan Babu and Mr. Vishnu Manchu, marking a significant moment in MBU’s journey.

Further enhancing the event's significance, MBU also announced a pioneering partnership with Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), USA. This joint-degree program, among the first of its kind in India, will offer students access to an integrated global curriculum, research opportunities, and dual-degree options from one of America’s top public universities.

Through this collaboration, MBU is opening new avenues for students to gain international exposure while studying in India.
