Exclusive Interview: Ram Achanta & Gopi Achanta Promise Akhanda 2 Will Surpass Expectations

Exclusive Interview: Ram Achanta & Gopi Achanta Promise Akhanda 2 Will Surpass Expectations

How did the Akhanda 2 project begin?

Producers: We produced Legend in 2014, and it released just before the elections and became a huge hit. We wanted to make another film with Balakrishna and Boyapati before the next elections. But due to uncertainty about the election schedule, we decided to set that original story aside and take Akhanda 2 forward instead.

How does it feel to work again with Balakrishna, and is this your first pan-India project?

Producers: It is very exciting. The Balakrishna–Boyapati combination is a blockbuster combo, returning after a hat-trick of hits. This story has a massive scale. Balakrishna’s energy is still the same—actually even higher. His presence itself boosts our energy.

The film was shot in very unique locations. What challenges did you face?

Producers: We shot major sequences at the Kumbh Mela. Getting permissions was extremely difficult, but we secured everything—including drone access. Every frame you see in the film is originally shot; we did not use stock footage. Boyapati worked tirelessly to capture the grandeur of Kumbh Mela.

Will there be premiere shows?

Producers: Yes. We’ve already applied for permissions. Once approvals come, we will announce the dates. Likely around 8–9 PM on December 4. Ticket prices will remain reasonable.

Was Akhanda 2 planned as a pan-India release from the start?

Producers: Absolutely. From day one, we wanted to release it across India. We didn’t change the story for pan-India appeal the story itself is universal. The film has many goosebumps moments and exceeds expectations.

Why choose a 3D version?

Producers: When we heard the story, we immediately felt it would look amazing in 3D. The 3D censor is happening tomorrow. Both 2D and 3D will release simultaneously.

How involved is Nandamuri Tejaswini as presenter?

Producers: Tejaswini Garu gives excellent promotional inputs and is also taking interest in production. She wanted to start her active involvement with Akhanda 2.

The action seems more intense compared to the first film. True?

Producers: Yes. Shiva represents mass energy, and the Shiva Tandavam is extremely powerful. The action will reflect that. The trishul used in this film cannot be replicated elsewhere.

Tell us about shooting the climax in Georgia.

Producers: The climax was planned in Kashmir, but the Pahalgam attack caused permission issues. So we shifted to Georgia and shot in freezing temperatures. While we wore sweaters, Balakrishna performed intense action scenes in a sleeveless Aghora look. Only he could pull that off.

What about Samyuktha and Poorna’s characters?

Producers: Samyuktha doesn’t play a regular heroine role; she has a significant character. Poorna continues from Akhanda.

How was it working with Boyapati Sreenu again?

Producers: Boyapati Garu listens to every suggestion and immediately implements anything that strengthens the project. That makes him exceptional.

The film revolves around Sanatana Dharma. Why choose this theme now?

Producers: That’s the USP. The story is rooted in faith, devotion, and divine energy. Akhanda established the idea that whenever temples or children are threatened, Lord Shiva himself rises. This film continues that divine emotional arc.

You recently showed the content to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. His reaction?

Producers: He loved it. He said the content was excellent and appreciated the team.

Music by Thaman is already trending. What can fans expect?

Producers: All released songs got a superb response. The jukebox is also out now. Even background tracks will mesmerize the audience. Thaman took extraordinary care with the BGM.

The CGI looks high-quality. Who handled the VFX?

Producers: Narendra from Matrix Company handled the VFX. The output is fantastic.

Will there be Akhanda 3?

Producers: There is scope for expanding this universe. It’s limitless. If Balakrishna Garu and Boyapati Garu want, anything is possible. But the story we started in Akhanda 2 will reach a complete conclusion in this film.

Tell us about Aadhi Pinisetty’s role.

Producers: Aadhi is an excellent performer. His character has come out brilliantly, and he has done more than full justice.

In how many languages is the film releasing?

Producers: All South Indian languages, Hindi, and additionally in the Awadhi language for audiences in Bihar.

When will Tyson Naidu release?

Producers: Shooting is complete. It will release in one or two months.

What are your next upcoming projects?

Producers: We are working on two films with new directors and new actors, and one big project is in the pipeline. Details will be announced soon.

All the best

Thank you

Rashmika Mandanna Opens Up in Interview: I Already Feel Like a Mother

Interviewer: You’ve been working non-stop across multiple industries. Has this pace ever taken a toll on you? Rashmika Mandanna: Absolutely! I overwork, and I’m telling you, don’t do that. It’s not sustainable. I think many of us, especially in this industry, get carried away with deadlines and expectations. But it’s so important to know your limits. Whether it’s 8, 9, or 10 hours of work, it’s enough. Beyond that, it becomes unhealthy—not just for actors but for the entire crew. Everyone deserv
