Exclusive Interview: Nayan Sarika On Vishnu Vinyasam - A Role With Many Shades

Exclusive Interview: Nayan Sarika On Vishnu Vinyasam - A Role With Many Shades

How is your character in Vishnu Vinyasam?
My character in the film is very different and has multiple shades. It is slightly female-dominating and may initially irritate some people, especially in the first half. However, when the real reason behind her behavior is revealed in the second half, audiences will understand and appreciate the character more. It is a strong and meaningful role.

Your character looked bold in the teaser. What was your reaction when you first heard about it?
I really liked the character when the director narrated it to me. I play a character named Manisha, who has faced many struggles in her life. At a certain point, she decides to live freely and happily. I appear as a college faculty member, and Sri Vishnu’s character is also a lecturer. The love story between two lecturers is very engaging, and I believe students and youth will strongly connect with it.

Can you share your journey into films?
I am originally from Maharashtra and completed my graduation before entering films. My first movie was in Telugu, and since then, I have continued working in the Telugu film industry. Telugu cinema has given me great opportunities and success, and I am very grateful for the love and support from the audience. I want to continue doing strong and meaningful roles with good stories.

How was your experience working with Sri Vishnu?
Working with Sri Vishnu was a very fun and enjoyable experience. He is a jovial person and makes everyone comfortable on set. His natural comedy timing and spontaneous improvisations make scenes even better. He is a very talented and natural performer.

How was it working with director Yadunath Maruti Rao?
He is a very talented and clear-minded filmmaker. When he narrated the story, I immediately enjoyed it. He guided me well for my character and helped me understand the emotional depth. Working with him was a great learning experience.

What can you say about the producers?
The producers were very passionate and supportive throughout the project. They ensured that everything required for the film was properly arranged. Their dedication played a key role in bringing the film together.

Which song from the film is your favorite?
Radhan has given excellent music for the film. I especially like the breakup song, and the song Modhale Modhale is also one of my favorites. The background score is also very impressive.

Did you always want to become an actress?
No, I initially wanted to become a lawyer. However, I always loved cinema since childhood, and that passion eventually became my career. I am very happy with my decision to become an actress.

Is comedy difficult to perform?
Yes, making people laugh is not easy. Sri Vishnu has excellent comedy timing, and his natural performance made scenes more enjoyable. His improvisations also helped improve our performances.

How did you feel after receiving the Filmfare Award?
Receiving the Filmfare Award was a dream come true. I grew up watching the awards on television, and standing on that stage to receive the award was a very emotional and happy moment.

What is your dream project?
I would love to work in a film directed by SS Rajamouli. Acting in his film is one of my biggest dreams.

What are your upcoming projects?
Currently, I am working on a fantasy comedy film titled Rakasa. I am also working on a Kannada film with Golden Star Ganesh. Both projects are very exciting and different from my previous work.

All the best!
Thank you!
