Lokesh, you’ve worked with both Rajinikanth and Vijay. What’s it like collaborating with legends like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan?
Working with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan is an experience unlike any other. They have immense experience in the industry and bring so much to the table. While Rajinikanth brings unmatched charisma and energy, Kamal Haasan brings depth and thoughtfulness to his roles. Both are legends in their own right, and I am fortunate to have worked with both.

You recently made a bold statement about Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s film choices. Can you explain what you meant by it?
Absolutely! What I meant was that Coolie, the film I am currently working on, is designed in such a way that it wouldn't suit Rajinikanth’s style or his type of films, much like how Vikram wouldn’t fit Kamal Haasan. Rajinikanth’s films have a unique style, and Vikram’s intensity and rawness wouldn't align with that. Similarly, Coolie has a different approach that isn’t in line with Kamal Haasan’s typical film roles.

Coolie has generated a lot of excitement, especially since it stars Rajinikanth. Can you tell us more about the film and its premise?
Coolie is an action drama that’s very different from my previous work. It’s a standalone film and not part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The story revolves around Rajinikanth’s character and explores a narrative filled with action, emotional depth, and drama. It’s a story that highlights Rajini Sir’s unique character, which audiences will love. We are all excited about its release.

You mentioned that you once planned a villain role for Rajinikanth in your earlier projects. Could you elaborate on that?
Yes, I did consider a villain role for Rajinikanth at one point, but after some thought, I realized it would delay the project. I didn’t want to take away valuable time from Rajini Sir, as he’s such a busy actor. It was something that was exciting on paper, but I felt that we could explore other characters that would fit better with the vision of the film.

What can fans expect from Coolie when it releases on August 14th?
Fans can expect a thrilling and emotionally engaging film. Coolie will be an action-packed drama, with Rajinikanth bringing his signature charisma to the role.
