Exclusive Interview: Yamini Bhaskar On Playing A Strong Independent Woman In Psyche Siddharth

Exclusive Interview: Yamini Bhaskar On Playing A Strong Independent Woman In Psyche Siddharth

How did Psyche Siddharth come to you and what attracted you to the role?
After Narthanasala, I took a break for almost two years. During that time, I was thinking about roles that could challenge me. A friend connected to Varun narrated the story while we were on a walk. The character of a divorced woman raising a child felt new and powerful. I had never played such a role before and it immediately caught my attention.

You mentioned it is a strong female role. What makes it special for you?
I played a very strong independent woman in this film. The character gave me great performance scope and emotional depth. I am confident that this role will open more opportunities for me after release.

Many viewers compared the visuals to Arjun Reddy. What do you say about that?
The look might have given that impression initially, but the story of Psyche Siddharth is completely different from Arjun Reddy. Both characters and narratives are distinct.

Tell us about your character and the love story angle in the film.
My character’s name is Sravya. She comes out of a toxic relationship to live life independently. Siddharth is also going through heartbreak and moves to a basti. That’s where we meet and connect. A natural, emotional love story begins which audiences will relate to easily.

How was the experience working with Sri Nandu?
Nandu is a very respectful and genuine human being. He treats women with respect and is wonderful to work with. I really enjoyed sharing screen space with him.

How did you feel after watching the final output?
The film turned out amazing. We all felt really happy and satisfied with the final output. Seeing our poster in Ramanaidu Studios was an emotional moment for us.

Production experience?
The producers supported us throughout. I was on a diet so I carried homemade food, and we shot most of the scenes comfortably at location. The environment was fun and creative.

Response after teaser and trailer?
I received many messages from friends saying they were happy to see me back. The teaser boosted my confidence and I decided to continue films seriously. I am open to OTT as well if I get strong roles.

You worked with Pawan Kalyan earlier. How was that experience?
My first scene was with him, and he spoke to me for nearly 15 minutes about my journey. He is humble and down to earth. Working with him in Katamarayudu was memorable and I have great respect for him.

Finally, anything for the audience?
Thank you for the love. I am excited for everyone to watch Psyche Siddharth on December 12. Hope my character touches hearts.

Stranger Things 5 Finale: Duffer Brothers Reveal in an Exclusive Interview

Which season was your favourite to write, and which was the hardest? Matt Duffer: It’s like choosing a favourite child. Naresh On Failures and 12A Railway Colony in Exclusive Interview

You recently said “I won my flops more than my hits.” What does that mean? Naresh: Failures taught me more than success ever did. When a film flopped, it forced me to look inward—understand what went wrong, where I need to improve, and how to evolve. My flops made me stronger, more patient and more self-aware as an actor. That’s why I feel I won them. How do you deal emotionally with a film not working at the box office? Naresh: It hurts, of course. We put our heart into every project. But over
