Star Telugu producer Dil Raju is venturing into Tamil cinema with Varasudu which marks the coming together of himself, Thalapathy Vijay, and Vamshi Paidipally. This film is announced for theatrical release next Sankranthi season and it is expected to wreck havoc at the Tamil box office coming Sankranthi festival season. 

The latest updates are suggesting that Dil Raju ended up around over Rs 125 crores on Vijay's remuneration alone for the film. This makes Vijay one of the highest-paid South Indian actors. 

Apparently, Vijay pocketed a remuneration of Rs 105 crores for starring in the film. Another 19-20 crores accounted for GST, taking the total money spent on Vijat's remuneration to Rs 125 crores. 

This is by far one of the biggest projects in Dil Raju's career thus far. He has evidently spent a fortune on Vijay for the Vamshi Paidipally directorial and it remains to be seen if he can successfully yield the desired returns as this film releases in theaters next festival season. 

In all likelihood, Varasudu could be releasing on the 12th of January, alongside Telugu biggies Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya.
